Sheltered in the subway from the driving rain I watch the late commuters make a dash towards the train Seemingly oblivious of everyone around Isolated droplets in the flood of homeward bound While overhead the traffic belched shit despite the warning Given out too late to halt the threat of global warming I felt this deadly ignorance that threatens my survival Let no man be an island |

And we stand against the world Hand to hand, flags unfurled Facing fear right in the eye Fight we win, win, lose we die Lose we die |

Ignorance is bliss they say and everyone believes The power of living for today, but ignorance deceives There'll be no fiery holocaust just gradual decay And everything that man has made, will man made slip away In fairy tales the book is closed and everyone is brave In life the story never ends and war supplies the graves No laurels for the victors, no glorious return Just blood, sweat |

An anti-pollution anthem, but also an anti-ignorance song. How the city folk, particularly in London, carry on their roles in life, oblivious of the perpetual destruction of the earth all around them, and their ambivalence in doing anything to stop it's progress. This was the bands first venture into "green" issues, and consideration for the environment.
